Peatland Value Chain Mapping

Location: Ogan Komering Ilir - South Sumatera, Merauke - Papua, & Teluk Bintuni - West Papua, Indonesia

ASYX collaborated with the World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia's initiative to focus on preserving peatland sustainability of Pantau Gambut. ASYX's contribution was done by supporting WRI in mapping-out and assessing the peatland commodities in specific districts of South Sumatera, Papua and West Papua.

By doing so, ASYX was able to identify and provide insights by identifying suitable commodities for peatland, potential partners, and as well as giving digital innovation advisory services for the feature development platform needed in order to find opportunities to improve and increase local economic growth while maintaining the peatland environmental areas.

The three main deliverables from this portfolio are:

Mapping and assessment of commodities for the communities that are actively working in the selected areas.
Feature development strategies for Pantau Gambut using a virtual platform, based on the mapping and assessment results.
Enable public engagement and stakeholder outreach to map out potential collaborators, investors and government bodies, agencies and/or institutions that will be able to tackle and take action in addressing the gaps for peatland commodities.
